Until a patch comes along, game is gonna run just fine with the PAZ file sitting in your backup folder, but if you forget to put it back in the proper place and the game tries to patch, it's going to puke on you.

So you can get in the habit to put it back each time and only remove it after you checked the launcher for updates, or you can have a bad day some time in the future when you forgot all about it and a patch comes ;)
