Resident Evil 4 (Resident Evil 4) , known in Japan as Biohazard 4 (Biological threat 4) is a multi-platform computer game in the genres of third-person shooter and survival horror. The fourth part of the cult series "Resident Evil" was developed by the studio "Capcom Production Studio 4" and released in January 2005. The next part of the series - Resident Evil 5 was released in 2009.
The events of this part unfold in 2004, six years after the story told in the second episode of the series. Leon Kennedy, a government agent, is sent on a mission to Europe. He needs to save Ashley Graham, the daughter of the US President, who was kidnapped by a mysterious cult. A trip to a rural village in Spain turns into a meeting with its bloodthirsty inhabitants.
During the game, both Leon and Ashley will be infected with Las Plagas parasites. These are the creatures that turned the once peaceful farmers into bloodthirsty zombies, obeying the head of the local cult, Ozmund Saddler. He was going to infect Ashley, making her an obedient puppet in his hands, and subjugate her father, the President of the United States, with the help of the girl, and then the whole country, and other world leaders, other countries. But his plan to achieve world domination failed. In the research center (where the parasites were grown), Leon and Ashley managed to remove the implanted Las Plagas from their bodies with the help of a special radiotherapeutic device.
Leon finds Ada Wong (a spy and hunter for the Las Plagas sample) who is being held hostage by Saddler. With her help, he destroys the villain. Ada then takes the sample and escapes the complex in a helicopter, setting off the self-destruct timer, but leaving our heroes the opportunity to escape the island on their jet ski before everything blows up.
