Meh, it's fine. I wrote Jeanette like a bad French stereotype, despite there not necessarily being a "France" per se. The important thing is that May's a foreigner, undocumented, and that she's from a country where most people look and speak something we would recognize as Chinese. It's like how in fantasy stories you'll have places that are like, "Look, it's basically Venice, okay?" Or Ace Combat, except for the part where you have officially licensed real-world planes.
