I have two preferences for zako backstory1. They were forced into whatever team their serving, either because of debt, kidnapping, or brainwashing. This way their much more frightened of whoever they are fighting.2.They joined the team for the benefits, to look sexy, feel badass, or just for the money. They might be a bit more cocky because of this, and this makes their defeat much more satisfying.
