Unable to get Undertow notifications after many weeks/months off the site (1 Viewer)

Many times, I've spent weeks or months off of Undertow. When I come back, my notification box is very spare. Usually less than 3 I think. However, when I use Undertow regularly, I get a notification every few days. I would like to receive all notifications, no matter how long I stay away because I'm watching (tracking) a lot of important mods in the resource manager and would appreciate being notified of any important updates when I come back. My theory is that Undertow gives notifications regularly, until I leave for a long time, then Undertow assumes I'm dead and won't give me notifications. Is there a way around this behavior? I don't want notifications e-mailed to me either.

Short answer: No, I looked at your permissions and notification setting and did not see any setting that could be changed to do what you want.
I'll ask Samoth Samoth (who knows more about the board software than me) to look into it.
Very respectfully,

Hello,

I'm guessing this is not going to be solvable, based on the initial research I've done. I decided to go trawling on the official Xenforo support forums (since we use Xenforo as our platform), and found this thread, which sounds similar to the issue you've voiced here:

The notifications alerts stop working after some time/instances for a given thread. For example, I posted in a particular thread and I start getting notification when someone replies to the thread. However after a few days I do not get any more notifications for that particular thread when someone creates a new post. I can see that thread in the new posts list but have got no alert notifications. I think if I visit that thread again, then only I start getting the notifications again. That again only for few days/instances only.

This behavior of course causes lack of engagement for my users. If this an intended behavior and can it be changed?

Unfortunately, the top response from a Xenforo dev says that this is the "intended" behavior. I do not believe I can resolve this request at this juncture, sadly.
