This fighting game is a sequel of another game called Makeruna! Makendo (localized in the US as Kendo Rage, by SETA U.S.A. (1993)). This game is a Street Fighter clone with two important differences: Magic meter, that offers a variety of abilities and Desperation Moves reminiscent of Fatal Fury. It had an OVA adaptation, and a PC-FX game that was an RPG, but no more than that.

Ryona:

• Three female characters can be selected (four in the PSX version).
• Every character (with the exception of the giant robot) have two grabs.
• Most of the Ryona (at least for me), comes from the Mermaid man character ("Macho" on the SFC version): he can grab the character in various ways that include: throw, bearhug (or grope?), and punch on the belly (groin?).

Female Characters:

• Hikari Tsurugino (Makendo in the SFC version, Makendo2 in the PSX version): the heroine of this game and younger sister of the main character on the prequel, she fights using her fists and kicks.
• Madonna: a ballerina that fights graciously using her dance moves.
• Makenro: a youkai girl that fights using her tennis racket.
• Mai Tsurugino: the main character in the prequel, unplayable in the SFC version, she fights using her magical kendo sword.
