Just wanna resurrect a thread that's fallen by the wayside. One of my earliest forays into digital art, a pinup of a girl wearing the uniform of the Saint Patrick's Batallion. I still sort of like the art even though there are some iffy problems with it (proportions, anatomy, symmetry):
Did he delete most of his stuff? Does he have another site somewhere that he moved it to? I just went back there after having been away from Pixiv for awhile and most of the relevant battle scenes were removed.

Anyone has this Pluto guy's stuff? He had a webpage ages ago, and I managed to once find it via internet archive, sadly lost most of the art since then. And never saw his videos anywhere.
Reviving an older thread. Half a century removed, but you can still sort of see the genesis of military uniforms leading up to the 1700s. These girls are based on Newcastle's Regiment of Foot or "whitecoats" during the English Civil War (1639-1653). Fanatically loyal to King Charles I, most of them died making a last stand at Marston Moor on 2 July 1644.
is free if you have prime, there is no combat, some hinting at it but its based on Marvelous land of oz which the emerald city is besieged by an army of young girls in old style uniforms. The film has a lot of images of them and the general singing. It sounds of course amazing but remember its for kids. They manage to conquer the emerald city without a drop of blood being spilled. Then are defeated by the scarecrow and good witch. They leave in surrender. An ok watch though for free.

I really can't get enough of women in Napoleonic-era uniforms, whether they're period-accurate or modified into leotards and what not. There used to be an artist (can't remember the name) who did very sexy, hand-drawn battles featuring female hussars and cuirassiers; unfortunately, he was a neo-nazi and made this abundantly clear in his work

I've never seen this movie, but I remember the book well, especially General Jinjur and her army of women! They're tired of being subordinate and doing housework all day, so they invade the Emerald City armed with knitting needles. At first glance it sounds like a jab at the women's suffrage movement, but L. Frank Baum (author of the Oz books) was a feminist. Princess Ozma, who becomes ruler of Oz at the end of the book, even has her own white-hat zakos decked out in shakos and epaulets. They don't actually fight, but you can see them placing Jinjur under arrest in my fourth attachment.
There's some history here, for those interested. This was the second Oz book, and Baum wrote it after the first had already been made into a popular stage play. At the time, this was like having your book adapted into a blockbuster movie, and he wanted to repeat that success the second time around. Armies of beautiful women were the type of spectacle that would have appealed to theatergoers of the era, and while I'm not an expert on stage history, my understanding is that it was a common trope. If you wanted to show off the legs of your chorus girls, one option was to put them in men's clothing, including military uniforms, since it was much more form-fitting than women's clothing. I'm sure if you combed through old theater productions, you'd find more than a little "zako" content (see my last two attachments).
I agree with Zufallx that the uniforms on Jinjur's Army of Revolt are more like marching band/majorette uniforms (which I also have a thing for). There should be a separate thread for majorette zakos if there isn't already!
jackjump's gallery on DeviantArt features zako in a variety of settings, including sci-fi and modern military, but he also has a number of "Napoleonic girls." This is very good stuff, IMO.
gapraiui's gallery on DeviantArt is similarly chock-full of great stuff. Not all of it is necessarily zako-themed, and much is evocative of the 19th rather than the 18th century, but I think his series "The Bridge" fits here. The setting is rather fanciful, but the bicorne hats and fife players say "18th century" to me. This series goes on for hundreds of images! I highly recommend checking it out. gapraiui is also on pixiv.
DxC also has a few images like this, which you can find in his DeviantArt gallery, and on pixiv. I believe he's a member here as well.
