Has this ever happened to you?
You killed another power-armored anime girl before she could kill you.
Actually, you did more than that - you blew her to pieces, blood and body parts flying everywhere.
And as she is crying and bleeding out in a pile of her own viscera, you look at her detached torso and think to yourself:
"You know, I'm glad there's no nipples on those boobs. I'm glad they thought of the children."
If not, this is the mod for you.
Beyond Citadel is one of the best shooters I've played in a while. Reviews on Steam are overwhelmingly positive.Beyond Citadel is also a very horny game. Its Developer, Doekuramori, has some very explicit Hentai Art out there.
So it is especially weird that while there is nudity in this game, all the characters have the anatomy of barbie dolls.
At least on the outside, because the game is very explicit about how they look on the inside. By putting that inside on the outside, a lot. The American morality problem: You can show them exploding into chunks of flesh, as long as none of those chunks has a nipple visible. Unless it's a male nipple, of course, then it's fine.
My guess is that the game is just too good to not be censored: Doekuramori knew he created an amazing shooter that needed to end up on Steam, not DLsite.
So he started censoring, as seen by some of the in-game files literally having "censored" in their file name.
This mod adds nudity to Beyond Citadel that, let's be frank here, should have been there from the get-go.
It affects just about every depiction of unclothed body parts that were missing nipples or labia.
It also skimpifies a few select things, mainly some NPCs, some outfits of the Martyr and the respawn pod.
Some pictures in the gallery are decensored as well, using official art by the author.
Most of the edits were made using existing art by Doekuramori, the game's original author.
So technically, this is still Doekuramori's work, who did a fantastic job on this game, nudity or not.
HOW TO INSTALL:
1. Download (Attachment below) and unzip.
2. Put the file "beyond_citadel-WindowsNoEditor_decensor.pak" into the following folder:
YOUR STEAM FOLDER \steamapps\common\Beyond Citadel\beyond_citadel\Content\Paks
Known issues:
The game treats any .pak file as a "patch", meaning its content gets loaded after the original game files.
That means that textures only get loaded in once they become visible, leading to blurry textures for a split second.
This is especially noticable with the respawn pod, as its animation loads in textures in very quick succession.
Sadly, I don't see high chances of fixing this at any point.
Censored or not, I highly recommend checking out Beyond Citadel on Steam. There's even a free demo. I've never been so impressed with the quality of gameplay of a game that caught my attention for... let's say, the wrong reasons.
