Dear Ryona enthusiasts,

As you can tell by my name, I love Chun-Li. She's not only my favorite Street Fighter character, but also my absolute favorite Ryona victim. I love her as a character, but I love it just as much when she's on the receiving end of a beatdown. For many of you Chun-Li ryona fans, you pop in Street Fighter, or a VS Series game and proceed to abuse our queen of fighting games.

However, i also have another medium in which I give Chun-Li a vicious beatdown. I write comic stories and my great friend Sergio Briseno illustrates them.

Please enjoy our projects, but feel free to comment and criticize. And feedback is welcome. And keep checking for updates on our current and future projects and pages.

Chun-Li v. Evil Ryu

One of my first projects is this 9 page mini comic about Chun-Li as she fights against Ryu who has been possessed by the dark hado. And she not only tries to bring him back, but to survive against Evil Ryu’s bloodthirsty for violence. Chun-Li is in a battle for her life. She can hold her own in battle. But against an overwhelming power such as the Satsui no Hado, Chun-Li would be pushed to her limits, both physically and emotionally.

Chun-Li v. Balrog

This is a single commission piece we did a couple months back in which Chun-Li takes on Shadaloo's money loving thug, Balrog. In this scene, Balrog and Chun-li are fighting. Balrog delivers a devastating punch to Chun-Li's stomach that pound her into the wall. The powerful punch knocks the wind (and possibly whatever lunch she had earlier) out of her. Chun-li's expression says it all.

Belly punching is my absolute favorite ryona. And after this blow, poor Chun-Li is gonna have one bad stomach ache after this.

Hope you enjoy.

Although this pic is just a one shot commission, it definitely serves as both practice and foresight into our grand project:

Chun-Li: The Gauntlet Comic

Our current project that we've been working on for years now. As of now, the project is planed to be a 90-page comic about Street Fighters iconic female fighter: Chun-Li.

I don't want to give too much of our plot away. But to keep it short and simple

Story:
  • Part 1: Chun-Li takes on Shadaloo... alone. Will she survive?
  • Part 2: Outnumbered and overwhelmed, Chun-Li braces for her toughest fight yet.

We'll update with pages and panels every month or so (via DA or Patreon). But please enjoy our current pages and panels.

After five years of an incredible partnership, he has decided to move on to other endeavors. He's still creating art and continues to improve and flourish as an artist. If you haven't seen any of the work he's done since our last page, I highly recommend that you check out his profile or patreon and give him a look.

That said, with the departure of Sergio, I was in need of finding a new artist. I don't expect them to copy the style of Sergio's art. But I entrust them to embrace the themes, tone, mood, and lore of my comic as well as the Street Fighter universe, and to bring their own style and identity to the comic. Make it their own, just as Sergio did.

Ladies and gentlemen, It is my honor and privilege to introduce the next artist of our Chun-Li: The Gauntlet comic.

Widodo/LABYLABY - www.deviantart.com/labylaby

Widodo is an incredibly talented artist. Before hand, while Sergio did all of the art, I did all of the lettering and speech bubbles. This time however, Widodo not only does the art, but he's also responsible for all of the lettering, text/speech bubbles, and onomatopia (sound effects). For the sake of quality, I've decided that Widodo will continue to do all lettering, text, speech, and effect from this point forward, as well as the art. I was blown away when I first saw this page, and I hope you'll be too.

We are incredibly excited to be on this journey with you, and we are even more to continue creating art for you all. Again, thank you for your patience and support throughout the years of making this.

Thank you. Look forward to bringing more content for you guys. Thanks for not judging.

Lovely comic, the artwork is well done and you have capture the personalities of Ryu and chun-li really well.
Thank you!

But I can't take all the credit. I can only take like 1-5% of it. The person you should give your comments to would be the person who drew this mini comic.

Sergio Briseño, He's my very good friend.

Sergio is an aspiring artist with tremendous talent. He is inspired by artists such as Adam Hughes, Brad Rigney, Noel Rodriguez, Ariel Olivetti, and In-Hyuk Lee. Sergio LOVES to create art. It ignites his passion. It fills him with joy. You can see all that reflected in the quality of his work.

As of right now, we are in the process of creating another Street Fighter comic. (Well, technically, it's going to be a Chun-Li comic since she is in like 90-95% of the story).

For our next project, we plan to be more ambitious. Our next comic project is projected to be 60 pages long, broken down into 10 parts. It will include a deeper story with more characters, more fights, and more excitement.

The plot once again follows our favorite fighting game heroine Chun-Li. We all know her history: Chun-Li’s father, who was also a detective, was murdered by M. Bison and the evil crime syndicate Shadaloo. In this comic, Shadaloo strike once again. And this time, they nearly claim the lives of people Chun-Li cares about. So she takes matters into her own hands and to protect those she cares about, she goes alone to put an end to their organization and defeat every member of Shadaloo once and for all.

(yes my Ryona enthusiasts, there will be fights, there will be beatings, and there will be blood)

Right now, we're still in the process of producing the first part,

My friend and artist Sergio works really hard and drawing comic art is his passion. Want to see more? If you would like to support him as well as a great Street Fighter ( and Ryona) artist, be sure to pledge your support at his Patreon Page.

https://www.patreon.com/treeink

Thanks guys. I'm loving the reception the first mini comic has gotten so far. *Art credit goes Sergio Briseño.

Hope this one gets even more fans, followers, and supporters. You can help! Be sure to share and donate. Thank you.

Dear Mr.Kargan3033

Sergio thanks you for your generous comment. He also said that he would be honored to do commission work for you, even adult themed. However Sergio has quite a few projects on his plate right now. In addition to the Chun-li comic he's working on, he's working on a couple other pieces. He would still love to produce something for you, however, no promises that it'll be done quickly.

Sergio charges $100 for a full colored image, but for adult themed, it'll cost $125

if you have any questions, let me know and I'll ask him.

Thanks for your support. Keep it coming, keep sharing. More stuff from Sergio to come soon.

Great comic! I love the beatdown.
My only wish is that Chun was wearing her iconic blue qipao/leotard costume from SF2.
Thank you. So glad you enjoyed it!
yeah, I'll tell you the story. When this project first started, Chun-Li went through a number of costume changes (Classic, SFIV alternate, Alpha,) Costume was such a hard pick that I asked my friends which Chun-li costume they liked. We put it to a vote and the winner ended up being this costume.

chun_li_commission_by_clc1997-d7c9g5g.png

The reason Are for artistic purposes.

1. Chun-Li's classic SFII is amazing and iconic. But with this outfit, you get that same classic blue with gold accents that shes famous for.
2. To make her outfit a little more "arousing" this costume was chosen to show a lot more skin. As you can see, sleeveless arms, her midriff is showing, and her pants go are just short enough where you can still see her beautiful and powerful theighs. Oh, also we went bare feet for anyone who has a foot fetish. (Not judging :))
3. Finally, with this outfit, its "exposing" enough where you not only see her skin, but as well as battle damage: bruises, cuts, scrapes, all that. Tattered clothes look great. But physical damage to the body is what really hits the viewer emotionally.

Again, thank you for the comments. I'll pass these along to my artist. Thank you. Im having a lot of fun discussing with you guys. :)

Ok I'll keep that in mind, money is tight right now and like you said he has a lot of work to do so when I have enough money I'll ask you if he has some free time and if you know what kind of payment does he accept and would he make a hard copy of the picture I want and send it to me?

Also what is his standard picture size and what about background detail and detail on the subject(s) in question

Great stuff, hope to see some of that action in her new sexy costume
Thank you Player_20! So happy you enjoyed it. I'll let my artist know.
When you said "new sexy costume", are you talking about her beautiful "SFV alternate? Or the costume I mentioned in the post above? Just curious. :)

I will say this: If you noticed page 1 of the new comic we're working, just as Ryu and Chun-Li are enjoying their vacation together, they get attacked by Vega. So in the next coming pages, Chun-Li is going to fight against Vega... in her swimsuit!

And don't worry. More action, more art, more comic pages coming. Stay tuned.

Want my artist to produce more and at a faster rate? You can help by becoming a donor to his Patreon page.

Thank you guys. He's having a lot of fun with his next update. Can't wait to show you guys. Only one more panel left to draw until page 4 is finally complete.

Oh K Kargan3033 , I talked with Sergio and he does do hard copy, but only in black and white. The only traditional media tool he uses are pencils, and he doesn't have any coloring material. Every colored project he does is done digitally. So unless you're okay with a pencil sketch hard copy of a commission picture, digital might be your best bet.

He accepts payment via paypal. I know what you mean by money being tight. It's okay. no rush, we're not on any time frame for the moment.

I see would he not be able to do a hard copy of the digital pic?(print it)?

As for paypal I have had trouble with them in the past because of my pay as you go credit card being reject by paypal

I'm not worried about the time frame since you have said that Sergio has a lot on his plate and given the fact that money is tight for me I'm not sure when I would have the cash to pay for his fine work.

You know, we're only on page 3 with a ton more to go. As of now, there isn't a part in the story where Chun-Li's SFV alt would be "appropriate", however, we stil have a long way to go. Things can easily change.

Sounds good, I look forward to seeing what you come up with next, even though Chuners is not my fav fight game character I enjoy seeing her being taken down a notch or two given her self given title of " World's *strongest* woman"

Say Chun-Li_Foever what was your inspiration for a RyuXChuner's pairing in the pics you have posted?
Very good question.

Chun-Li has always been my favorite character since I started playing SF. Ryu has always been my second favorite. I didn't start to ship the two as a couple until after I read a couple fanfics and saw a lot of art work of them together. They more I dove into it, the more I loved it.. But the one story that inspired me love for the RyuxChun-Li Pairing (and this comic) would be the fanfiction story

End of a Journey, by Psycho Blue

The story takes place post SFIII, where Ryu feels lost on his journey to becoming a warrior, where Chun-Li feels rooted in taking care of kids, and it's their time together where they find they were meant to be together.

I love how both characters are strong and iconic fighters, both lost their father figures at an early age (Chun li with her father, Ryu with Gouken).

Awesome! And that's one story out of many. Plus other artworks and stuff had got me into the RxCL shipping.

The comic wil have a LOT more focus on Chun-Li than Ryu though, but i'm still shipping it. Mostly out of requests from fans and my friends.

Sweet, Fanfiction.net does have a lot of good SF fiction as well as non SF fiction, I like the Mini-Hammer fics and the fics for the Gate jinitch(SP) anime.
