(EXTRA SANGOKU BASSA NOTES)
One thing sangoku bassa does better than a lot of game stuns is actually have different facial expressions, but the problem is, it's very difficult to get good angles to see them. From what I've messed around with, and lucky enough glitches mixed with good timing, facial expressions are mostly different for every character, and is the same expression they have when they recieve knockback.
Am also surprised the game has, ahem, "jiggle physics", sorry. (Quite obvious in stun gif 12)
The recording messed up on this one, and ended up recording the exact first frame of the stun which I've found impossible to record literally every time.
The other screenshots just show expressions.
The left one is the character getting stunned right as they were being switched to
The right one is less interesting, but the trails which the circling stars leave behind, actually follow the stars *clap clap clap*
The first and second ones were done unintentionally, it'll be unlikely to pull them off again, considering the boss's weird stun patterns, the level is 1-4, fourth battle on the first chapter, so it's very early on, and you can force close the game before the timer runs out to try the boss again without having to restart all the way from the beginning of the stage as the game puts you right back before the boss starts.
Boss seems to only do a "stunwave" sort of attack 3 times in total throughout the fight, once at half health, another at 1/4 health, and the final one which is literally like 1/10 or 1/20 of their total health, as soon as you beat the boss the game will save, so the force close trick won't work. They also stun your character at unpredictable times usually.

sorta unrelated but
Sometimes I wonder why games put so much effort into a good stun, and they usually make up 1/5 of a character's unique animations, even though stuns are often more annoying than a fair way for game balancing, it's like you're being punished for being punished and it doesn't actually balance anything in a lot of games (except for RPGs where losing a turn can be detremental). They also put in a lot of effort and then not have a way to see them from an animation gallery or something, King's Raid has my respect for making that a feature. Smash bros is also kind for letting you pan the camera around. 3D characters take a lot of effort to make, devs should include more ways for players to appreciate their work imo, (not just for stuns lol)
also, anyone know if genshin impact has any stuns? so far it doesn't seem like it, I'm hoping there still is though, like honkai impact only having like, 1 or 2 enemies that can stun
