The bug-eyed hit sprites are an easy change and I don't LIKE them

I’m mildly conflicted cause I do wish enemies showed more than one hit pose when they get punched (and the same pose got reused for multiple enemies besides Lenora actually grabbing her stomach from what it looks like), but on the bright side, they all seem to imply getting punched in the tummy repeatedly.

Stellar Blade looks super interesting indeed.

The good ending involves fighting a horde of zakos. We see the last one falling dead and then there's a (unfortunately distant) view of all the corpses. Would be nice to enable free camera here...

It's not an action game, but if there was an ARPG Zako topic nobody is posting there anymore, so...

Mage Knight was not just a miniature tabletop game, it also spawned a Diablo-like ARPG, which has you control a whole small team of heroes. At any rate, in one level you go up against the Necropolis Sect - they are a group of Elves worshiping necromancy and being on the path to vampirism, and most of their members are scantly clad, big-bosomed sexy Elf ladies!

The main zakos are the Nightblades, Elf assassin gals in Y-strings, spiked shoulderpads and long boots. They all have the same death animation falling to their knees, then ending up face down on the ground. There are also Nightblade Archers - the same model with shortbows, they do end up falling on their backs when they die.

There are also 4 named minibosses who are really just ascended zakos. Delara the Priestess of Darkness is a magic user with a scythe and epic pushed-up boobs who seems to be into necrophilia too as she says "the real fun begins after you die!" :P
Carlana, Nightblade of Vladd is a fighter Vampire chick with spear and shield, but wearing rather skimpy armor nonetheless.
Jadreen, Death in the Night is the archer of the team, dressed pretty much like a goth Wonder Woman. She even seems to thank you for killing her as she gets to die with her honor intact, in battle.
Last of the minibosses is Ravensbane, the sorceress, wearing a super low cut top and a loincloth with a cape and not much else!
After all that, you still have to fight the Blood Priestess who wears a long skirt, crown and just a strap-bra without suspenders. Nice looking gal! She ends up stabbing herself with a dagger between the boobs to awaken the giant Bone Golem.

The Nightblade zakos are really nice and remind me of Shahdee from Prince of Persia Warrior Within. Nice that the archers die tits-up on the floor. Thanks for sharing this.


Mictlana is great too, even if in her death cutscene her corpse ends up falling in the least revealing angle possible for such a virtually naked villainess.

Edit: I've played the game up to Mictlana's boss fight (with cheats from a trainer app on lol). If you you manipulate her pathfinding and kill her on the edge of the top platform while you are standing below it, her corpse falls in a midair position that can be zoomed on. Unfortunately, it disappears in just a minute or so...

THere any other zakos in the game? Or are these girls only an end mission enemy?

It's made in HSP, or Hot Soup Processor, an old japanese coding language/program. I spent a good amount of time trying to figure out how to get anywhere here, only to find out its encrypted and I don't know how to decrypt it. I've tried, using old japanese programs and even trying to use plugins for old japanese image viewers, but... no dice. Even the old demo.
I'm gonna... I guess I just have to plead with him somehow

To my surprise, zako Oiran actually appeared in the Ninja Slayer game "NINJA SLAYER NEO-SAITAMA IN FLAMES" (ニンジャスレイヤー ネオサイタマ炎上)

In the original novel, these girls were manipulated by an evil ninja to attack ninja slayer . Ninja slayer simply avoided their attacks and killed the manipulator, then they lost control , hit and exploded by rockets being fired at each other.
But in the released game videos, you can see them appearing in boss battles, hit by ninja slayer and eventually falling to the ground. x.com
