Hello, I’m back again.
This time, I want to share how I dealt with vertex colors.
After some research, I finally found a way to fix the shadow burn on NPCs.
I really want to modify all the NPCs made by Suzu (but I don’t have the time, and I’m also quite lazy), so I’m sharing my solution with everyone. I used Blender; I’m not familiar with Maya, but the logic is similar.
Before starting, it’s recommended to back up the files you want to modify (pac).
First, enter the vertex paint mode for the body parts and observe which area has the least color.
( As shown in the picture, the area with the least color is located below the Z-axis. Or reduce the model to a position with no color
Next, enter edit mode > ctrl + a > move along the area with the least color > enter > save dae > pack into pac.
( If the area with the least color is below the Z-axis, use G > Z -1000000. Conversely, if it’s above, use G > Z +1000000.
Then, restore the model to its original position using ctrl + z (still in edit mode), save the dae, and pack it into pac.
Finally, unpack the pac and observe the area with the least color again. Repeat the above steps until you are satisfied with the result.
ex: Sometimes, the model might turn completely gray, which means the file is no longer usable. In this case, use the original backup file to restore it. (.pac)
If I made any mistakes in what I said, feel free to correct me.
I hope this helps anyone who wants to fix vertex colors. Have fun!
Finally, I present my modified file!
