Love running this thread, and promise I don't actually mean for such long hiatus after every chapter, but yeah, shit happens. As some may have guessed (or not, I dunno) the holidays have left me far less free time than usual. Damn annoying family! kidding, lol.

 

[Severity]

I'll throw in a quick description of Lia -
Athletic build, she's fairly muscular. Her strawberry blonde hair is short, as she likes it, and her piercing steel-blue eyes have a way of looking at people without really recognizing their humanity.

The girls returned to the base to buckle down and plan their next course of action. Maddy was adamant on saving the three missing girls, the same as everyone else was. They just had to find Sam Marsters, which they couldn't exactly do without a lead to where he might be. Flame pointed the group to people who may have seen him recently. There was a girl he had been messing around with recently, not quite a girlfriend, but a fling who'd presumably been over to his house many times. She was one of his fellow glory-seeking vigilante types; a woman by the name of Paula Estrada who was far easier to track. Maddy had Marie do some reconnaissance and map out Paula's jogging routine for the perfect ambush. Afterward the ambush itself was made as a mission to test the newbies, namely Naomi, Paige, Anna, Suzume, and McClellan. After all, it would be five on one against an unprepared opponent.

The smaller group of black rabbits waited in the cover of shadow for their target to arrive. Orders were to take her back alive to get all the info about Sam Marsters that was necessary, though being new, none of these particular girls really knew too much about the recent significance of Marsters to the group apart from hearsay.

VS Paula Estrada

As soon as their quarry turned the corner, Suzume leaped into action, and quite expertly, Quickly pinning her to the ground. The others immediately surrounded her, holding her down, and trying to cover her mouth. There were some minor complications, like Naomi getting her hair pulled at, but overall it went very smoothly. What did Paula in though, was Paige clubbing her in the face and knocking her out. They heaved their target into the van, and congratulated themselves on a job well done before rushing back to the base.

Choice for Flame: Back at the base, Maddy gives Flame the order to be in charge of the remaining hostage they have. "Poor Katie deserves a break from that after the last incident. Maybe the prisoner will take more to someone like you? You know... more confident?" Maddy said, ironically not looking to confident herself. She sighed, "Honestly, just do whatever you want with her. At this point I just want her gone if she's not going to listen to reason."
A: Kill Hostage, B: Free Hostage, C: Convert hostage to Usagi Black, D: Other...

Choice for Everyone: Maddy's given everyone free reign over Paula Estrada. Do whatever it takes to get information on Sam Marsters. After the information is gained, Maddy said she's leave it up the the group's vote what to do with her.

(I'm back! And this was supposed to be more of a legitimate battle but the dice said no! Like, near-perfect rolls. Seriously. Almost instant win with little to work with lol. Well the next one should be a big deal though since we'll be facing Sam)

After "expertly" pinning their quarry as the opening move of the engagement, Suzume thinks to herself how surprising it is that that worked; as the quarry approached and her nerves got the better of her, she quite literally panicked into an impossibly lucky tackle and pin. Probably no reason the others have to know about that part though, she decides.

Suzume's vote is to use honey rather than vinegar on Paula - try to offer her wealth or a ticket out of here, first. She doesn't know that we're all broke... probably. If that doesn't have any traction we can ask Sandra for a more "professional" touch. (Anna votes that everyone get together and pose at her until she gives up the info, but is quickly - and thoroughly - laughed out of the room for that suggestion)

 

[Severity]

Elizabeth doesn't have any opinion on what should be done with their new prisoner.

Lia, though, suggests that perhaps Spice could convert Paula. After all, even though Sugar's dead with the time it took them to turn Cinnamon she shouldn't have any trouble with Paula.
She's also doing her best to get Elizabeth to accept her new role as a killer. She's more of a liability than an asset until she accepts it.

Flame cooed lustfully "You're the difficult one, huh?"

The pink-haired girl made quite a racket however behind her gag all that came out was muffled yelling,

"You're cute," said Flame with a breathy confidence, "Listen I'm gonna be straight with you, I didn't come here to convert you, I came here to have fun, however after we are finished I think that you will probably find it wiser to be out there in a ridiculous costume than in here as my plaything,"

The girl let out an inquisitive mmmmfff from beneath her gag,

Flame laughed and began to undo the girl's bottoms, "just a warning, my hands can get pretty hot...."

A couple of hours passed and flame exited the cell taking care to readjust her uniform.
Shortly after the pink-haired girl wobbled out with a dazed and embarrassed expression plastered across her face,

Maddy happened to be passing by conveniently and flame passed her the keys to the cell, "there you go sweetie," she said condescendingly "I got her dressed up for you too,"

Maddy was very impressed by Flame's recent help so she sought her out to let her know, "I don't know how you did it Flame, but you really helped out with that annoying girl, Kai. You also had the only lead to our current mission. I'd say you're quick on the way to a promotion! Well... uh... I can't actually do that right now, but I just want you to know I hold you in high regard! So uh, th-thanks."

Spice attempted to use her pheromones on the recently captured Paula Estrada but it didn't work at all. Maybe Spice was off her game because of the death of her friend Sugar, perhaps she just slipped up, or was under pressure for some other reason. (Persuasion total failure)

Paula was strapped to a chair in a cell. "I'm still not telling you shit, you bunny sluts," Paula said when Maddy sent Flame and McClellan in for a more direct approach. "Lot of nerve calling us sluts when you're Marsters' slut," Flame replied, causing Paula to only grit her teeth in reply.
"McClellan, you first," Maddy ordered.
"With pleasure," she replied, and punched Paula in the gut.
"Flame, your turn."
Flame followed up with her own punch. The two of them alternated punches for quite a while, and didn't let up until Paula finally squealed.
"I give, I give!" Paula yelled after what had to have been an hour of abuse.
"We're listening," Maddy snarled. She had be overlooking the other two the whole time, standing at the end of the room with her arms crossed underneath her large breasts.
"Sam Marsters lives at Cascade street. Look for the red truck." (Intimidation success)
"Finally. Flame, McClellan, get ready. We're heading out today."
"What about her?" McClellan asked, pointing at Paula.
After a moment of thinking, Maddy said, "We'll take her with us. That way we both have hostages." She walked out of the room with the most serious air she could muster, trying carefully not to stumble and embarrass herself.

Vs. Sam Marsters

They parked on the street, right at the house Paula had specified. There wasn't much of a plan of action. Maddy wanted her girls back and was confident the whole squad would be more than enough to handle him. She didn't have the patience to devise a plan, despite some others recommending that she take a bit to think it out. Even still, truth be told she didn't sound to sure of herself either. "J-just charge in. Stealth specialists can flank, but we should be fine, right? I'll hold onto the hostage. let's just... do this," she said.

It didn't take long for Marsters to notice the advancing assault. "More of them? I don't know how they found me, but these bitches are gonna regret it." He took up shelter in the second floor of the house, lying in wait for the upcoming approach. He hid in his own closet in his bedroom, hoping to turn this ambush around into a surprise attack on them.
"Where the hell is he?" Flame questioned.
"We'll split up and search for him!" Paige suggested.

Sam listened closely as he heard footsteps entering his bedroom. As soon as her back was turned and she was about to leave, he crept out and behind her.
"It... looks all clear in here!" her voice called back down the stairs to the others. It was Kim, who was invested in this mission since the bastard they were after killed her sister. And in just a moment, she found the same hands that had broken her sister's neck around her own, but when she felt his touch she didn't hesitate to react. Her elbow rammed it's way into his gut, causing him to lose his grip. "I was wrong! He's here! Help!" She screamed, frantically running back to her backup. "Damn it," Sam Marsters swore under his breath, clutching his stomach. (Boss stunned and minor damage)

The Rabbit's forces were a tad scattered at the moment, so the first to come to Kim's aide was Lia, with Spice following close behind. "I've got him!" Lia said, firing off into the room once Kim was clear. While bullet resistant, it still clearly hurt him a lot, and having no ranged weapons of his own, he had no choice but to charge through the rain of bullets to counter-attack. Lia was full-speed tackled, tripping and nearly falling down the stairs, but catching the railing before fully tumbling down. (Boss massive damage)

Spice tried kicking Marsters with her deadly heels, but he wasn't having it. He easily grabbed her ankle, leaving her suspended in the air. For his counter, he rammed his fist between her open legs for a mighty groin strike. He hit her so hard in fact that her pelvis cracked, and she shrieked loud enough that surely the rest of the group heard at this point. Sam swung her now-dangling-limply body and tossed it down the flight of stairs. She hit the ground floor face-first with a loud snap, and fell right beside Fay, who was quite alarmed by this. (Spice has died)

During the commotion, Kim ran down the stairs, dragging Lia with her. She met Fay there. "Run! Regroup! Regroup!" She said, in panic, but luckily, the others were showing up at just this moment, including Maddy, holding Paula Estrada, with her ray gun pointed at her hostage's head. "Come down here, asshole! Or we'll kill your friend Paula here!" she yelled, hoping he didn't hear her voice crack in fear.
"Paula? How the hell did you sluts-?!" Sam questioned, as he raced down the stairs. Immediately as he reached the bottom he was interrupted by his face meeting the fiery fist of Flame, knocking him to the ground.
"Remember me?" she quipped. (Moderate damage)

Sam tripped Flame and jumped to his feet. "Barely," he scoffed. Like a flash, he rushed to grabbing Jill, having his own hostage immediately. "Let Paula go, or I'll break the little one here," he threatened. Maddy Gritted her teeth, unsure of what to do, looking around for guidance but the others were just as clueless. "Fine! Take her!" Maddy conceited, tossing Paula back over to him.
"Good," Sam said, but with a cruel smirk, he grabbed Jill by the head and snapped her neck anyway. "Paula, let's wipe out this scum," he told her, freeing her bound hands. (Jill has died)

"Y-You heartless fucker!" Maddy yelled, firing off energy rounds that were poorly aimed in her rage and nimbly dodged by Sam, only to be kicked backwards into a wall with a thud by Paula immediately afterwards.

Katie had Lia back up to her feet quite quickly (+1 Assist)

Celeste helped Maddy, who was a bit shaken. (+1 Assist)

Paula, finally able to show her true power, flipped around gracefully, overwhelming Elizabeth. She tripped her to the ground and straddled her. While pressing both her thumbs against Elizabeth's windpipe, crushing it and killing her, she softly moaned almost orgasmically, enjoying feeling the life slowly leave her enemy's body. (Elizabeth has died)

Clearly, Paula was having way too much fun with herself, because she was left open to a bullet piercing through her heart, coming from Fay. Her body slumped over Elizabeth's. (Fay +1 Kill)

"Paula!" Sam yelled, and was momentarily distracted. He himself was already quite tuckered out but he charged Fay for retribution nonetheless, she recoiled in fear, unable to get a good shot off in time, but was luckily guarded by Marie, who shocked him backwards a few feet with a thrust of her baton. (Moderate damage)

As he stumbled, the final blow ended up going to the most unlikely of people. Kai, the newbie, who was a hostage herself, not long ago, had grabbed a chair and pummeled him with it, While she realized he'd stopped moving she kicked him in the head to make sure. "Oh. I think he's dead," she said. (Boss Killed)

Maddy panted and wiped sweat from her brow. "B-but where are the girls?" After a search through the house, the group found them chained up in the basement. They solemnly collected the bodies of their fallen comrades, comforted Jane Nina and Ace, and returned back to their base. Friends had fallen, but they took comfort in knowing that Sam Marsters and Paula Estrada were dead.

Surprised by Sam's speed, charging through her bullets, as Lia regains her footing after being dragged down the stairs by Kim. Pointing her rifle at Sam's head once he takes Jill hostage, she waits for a good moment to open fire. Unfortunately, it never comes, and after the fighting stops she rushes over to Elizabeth, with the hope that Paula's attack wasn't enough to kill. A broken neck can't really be fixed, but a throat wound... If what she was taught in Basic is true, there might be a chance.

Doing her best to remember what she was told back then, she throws Paula's corpse off of Elizabeth and finds what seems to be the main injury, a crushed throat. Thinking for a few seconds, she takes out her combat knife and begins to shout orders.
"Get me a fucking...!"
Looking around, she realizes what she needs would be in the kitchen.
"Where's the fucking kitchen!? I need a burner cranked up now!"
She drags Elizabeth's dying body to the kitchen floor, where she lays her down and turns one of the burners on Sam's stove on to its' highest setting. Glancing at her combat knife, she squeezes Elizabeth's hand once before placing the knife's blade on the burner.
Returning to Elizabeth's side, she begins looking at her subordinate's crushed throat to find a good spot for the incision. Noticing an observer, shouts another order.
"Tell me when that burner gets orange!"
Seeing her new assistant nod, she returns to examining Elizabeth's throat.

Less than a minute later, Lia can't stand the waiting anymore. She decides to act. Taking the heated knife from the stove, she makes a small cut in between Elizabeth's clavicle and the place her throat was crushed by Paula.
Unfortunately, it's not hot enough to cauterize, and Elizabeth's new wound doesn't seem to help her breathe very much. Grabbing a spoon from Sam's silverware drawer, she frantically places the flat end of the handle on the burner before returning to Elizabeth, and trying to hold open the cut to allow her to breathe. She props the cut open with a fork, putting it in sideways and letting Elizabeth breathe through the tines.
She's losing blood, and soon Lia remembers something she saw in a TV show about disasters - Lying Elizabeth on her side might help her breathe! It would certainly keep one of her lungs empty of blood, and so in seconds Lia is propped up on her side, and her wet, wheezing breaths are faintly audible.
Gladdened by Elizabeth's temporarily renewed signs of life, she stands up for a moment to check the spoon's heat. When she touches it, she feels an extreme heat, but without looking she takes the spoon and quickly presses its' handle against the cut in Elizabeth's throat, which seems to stop the worst of the bleeding.

Seeing that Carly is her assistant, Lia breathes a sigh of relief. She's one of the most obedient girls present, and Lia trusts her to do exactly as she's told in the near future. Which, as she shouts her orders, becomes increasingly clear - While Carly searches for the keys to Sam's truck, Lia carries Elizabeth out and puts her in the truck's bed, leaning her against the side and patting her on the shoulder.
Seconds later, when Carly rushes out of the house with Sam's keys, they're snatched away by Lia, who orders Carly to stay in the back and keep Elizabeth steady.

When she arrives at the hospital several minutes later, Elizabeth is still faintly breathing as Lia and Carly hurry her out of the truck's bed and into the emergency room, where Lia shouts quickly to the stunned onlookers, shocked at the sight of the bunny-girls' sudden intrusion.
"She got hit in the throat hard, tried to make a relief airway, think I cauterized it."
She and Carly lay down Elizabeth on the ER's floor, and get out the door as the staff begin to react. Lia leaves them with another shout -
"Take good care of her or I'll fuckin' kill you!"
The two of them quickly jump in Sam's truck and make their escape, speeding back to base as quickly as Lia is comfortable driving.



As the very recent prisoner cartwheels towards her, Elizabeth pulls the trigger of her gun but only sprays the house behind Paula with gunfire.
She's quickly knocked to the ground, and before she can recover her bearings an extreme pain in her neck causes her to black out.


Jane doesn't allow herself to hope that the sounds she hears from above are her comrades. As she's taken out from Sam's improvised dungeon, she grabs the fallen Elizabeth's Mac-10 and empties the remaining magazine into Sam's head, ensuring he'll have a closed casket.
She's incredibly grateful to the team for saving her.
They saved me... I'll do everything I can to make up for it, especially to Jill's friends. She died for me... And so did Lia, and Carly, and Elizabeth, and Spice...
Jane is later told that in fact Lia and Carly are alive and well, which makes her feel a bit better. Still, three of her comrades died to free her, and their sacrifice won't be forgotten soon. She considers Elizabeth dead, since she doesn't really trust Lia's word that Elizabeth was dropped off at the ER and she doesn't trust Carly to tell the truth if Lia told her not to.

So, Elizabeth's probably going to survive. She'll definitely be of no further utility to Usagi Black, but technically she won't die.
She won't tell the police anything, at least for the first few months. Given that they don't have any actual evidence that she's done more than be present while people have died, her prison term likely won't be more than 20 years. That's still a really fucking long time, but at least she won't have to worry about where her next meal comes from. She will have, as they say, three hots and a cot.

Also, Lia has begun to distrust Maddy. She's not to the point where Maddy is in danger of suffering from an 'accident', but if she keeps attacking with no plan Maddy might soon find herself relieved of command.

Given that they don't have any actual evidence that she's done more than be present while people have died, her prison term likely won't be more than 20 years. That's still a really fucking long time, but at least she won't have to worry about where her next meal comes from. She will have, as they say, three hots and a cot.

Also, Lia has begun to distrust Maddy. She's not to the point where Maddy is in danger of suffering from an 'accident', but if she keeps attacking with no plan Maddy might soon find herself relieved of command.

The ingenuity to turn a character death into a character arrest. Really damn cool! Of note for this: arrests usually retire a zako from the game, it's theoretically possible to free an imprisoned zako, but very highly unlikely to actually happen. In-universe wise though, arrests aren't treated as too big of a deal. In the Shaderverse (My continuity that this campaign is somewhat based in) prisons aren't quite realistic ones and are more like the comic book Arkham Asylum style prisons where criminals never actually stay in there for too long for some reason or another. Here, it's sorta treated even in-universe as a minor setback, making getting arrest probably the luckiest form of retirement in this thread. Though it's always safe to assume any arrests that happen will mean that the zako will be gone for at least the end of the thread. Honestly, a "got sent to prison" ending for any given zako in this universe can mean whatever you want it to mean, from "Was eventually released and cleaned up her act" to "Was abused and killed in prison" depending on how you wanna take it. So yeah essentially the point was arrested endings offer a lot of freedom for whatever you want the character's epilogue to be. Thought that would be some good info to note since upcoming antagonists will be a lot less often murderous and the next bits are far more likely to have arrests than deaths if anyone's HP drops.

After the battle Flame is thrilled to have gotten rid of that bastard Sam Marsters, she was still hot-headed over the fact that he barely remembered her, but at least he was six feet under and they got the girls back without an overwhelming amount of losses.

Kai was beginning to like her new employment a bit more, in her old job it was a lot of waiting around and guarding a musty abandoned store, but bashing some asshole's brains in with a chair was something she could get used too.

Paige desperately tries to get Naomi's attention however she gets far too nervous and resorts to comforting Jane and the others while desperately staring at the girl from afar.

Ace was shocked to be saved, is this her first bit of good luck? sadly no... as she climbs up the stairs to her freedom she haphazardly trips on a stair and winds up bouncing all the way down to the bottom and landing in quite a humiliating position, at least it brings some levity to the rather grim situation.

Fun-loving and carefree, Hazel is cute, and she knows it. There's not much she likes more than being a cute girl who gets to be a cute girl around other cute girls, but one of those things is guns. And the only thing she likes more than guns is using them. On people.

Ranged combatant, with a persuasion score of 5. I don't think she's especially cowardly or especially brave, but I think she would always try to run and hide before she would ever try to bargain or plead. Like, she'll still do that, but only as a last resort. When cornered, etc.

Upon seeing the green stone they'd picked up on their prior expedition beginning to spark, Katie ran to report it to Maddy. "Maddy, I think something's wrong with the rock thing, I need you to check it out."
"Right," Maddy said, "The girls up top told me to wait for a reaction from it, so this might be good."
The rock was vibrating around the glass case they had put it into, sparking with electricity, albeit not violently.
"Interesting... Now if only they told me what it's actually for." Maddy said. "Katie, rest easy, it's supposed to do that. Beyond that though, I'm not sure."

Carly was with Kim in the locker room. She had only finished changing out of her civilian clothes, while Kim was in her Shader uniform already. They had been conversing but Kim was about to head in to the main area.
"Hang on, wait for me! I'll be dressed in just a second!" Carly said.
Kim replied, "No, I'm already late. I need to report in. Just hurry and meet up with me."
"Fine, fine!"

With Carly preoccupied trying to slip on her leotard, she hadn't noticed someone else creeping in, though even if she had heard, she would have just assumed it was another black rabbit. (Perception failed)

Carly felt a tug on her choker. "Wha? -Ack!"
"Quiet," a soft female voice commanded.
"Who- who are you? What- ...P-Please don't hurt me!"
"Heheh. You can call me 'White Bunny', and if you hand over that little costume of yours and stay quiet, I guess I can refrain from bruising you up." (Persuasion success)

Carly whimpered and slid her only partially put on leotard off of her body and dropped it on the floor, along with her other accessories.
"Good," said Gabrielle Becker, the 'White Bunny'. "Now what to do with you?..." upon noticing Carly's locker wide open she had it figured out. She looked to Carly, who was shivering without any clothes on, and shoved her into the locker before slamming the door.
"Eep!"
Gabrielle chucked and said, "Just gonna put on your outfit, then I'll be out on my way. Mwa!" She mockingly blew a kiss.

After dawning the guise of a black rabbit, Gabrielle saw Kim walking along and decided to play it cool as if she was just another coworker and tried passing by, but overestimated the amount of people in the base. Everyone there pretty much knew every other girl there. (Perception success)
"Are you... new here?" Kim asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Uh, ...Yes," Gabrielle responded unconvincingly. She already saw Kim balling up a fist ready to react, so she jumped at her, slamming her against a wall and covering her mouth. "Lights out for you. You should have just looked the other way." She slammed the back of Kim's head against the wall, causing her eyes to roll up into her head as she collapsed.
"Guess I have to hurry before these girls get discovered now," Gabrielle groaned.

Gabrielle had a goal in mind but wasn't sure where she was going to get to it. She passed by a sort of living room, with a couch, TV, and other types of basic entertainment. Paige, Hazel, Naomi, and Celeste were all there. Gabrielle hoped if she walked straight through with her head down, her disguise would be enough for them to not notice anything strange, especially considering they were preoccupied and probably would pay no mind to another rabbit just passing through. Luckily enough for her, she was right. (Perception failure)
Paige was sitting with Naomi and watching whatever she wanted to watch, while the new girl, Hazel, was introducing herself to Celeste. No one batted an eye at the passerby and merely continued what they were doing.

Maddy was chatting with Flame by the green stone, discussing it.
"I just don't get it. They're not telling me anything and I'm getting concerned. What if it's dangerous?" Maddy said.
Flame crossed her arms and said with a nod, "My bet is that they don't even know much about it and they're just not telling us anything because they don't know either."
Maddy paused for a second. "Wait, who's that?" She pointed over to a potted plant that Gabrielle was hiding behind. She blushed in embarrassment at getting seen so easily in such a hiding spot, but sprung to action. (Perception success)

"It is I, criminals! The White Bunny! I'm here for that McGuffin over there and I suggest you hand it over."

Both black rabbits gave her funny looks but Maddy quickly realized the extent of the threat here. "Wait, how did you even find this place?!" Maddy questioned as she aimed her laser pistol.

Flame went straight for the punch, and hit the White Bunny in the shoulder. Gabrielle was shaken, and nearly took a fall, but grabbed Flame as she stumbled, causing them both to lose balance and also making Maddy hesitant to shoot seeing as the laser would burn through the both of them.
"G-Get off my friend!" Maddy yelled. (Damage)

Gabrielle shoved Flame into Maddy, slamming them into the glass case holding the green stone. Maddy's head hit the glass and it shattered, leaving her dazed. As she attempted to fire her blaster, she missed the lethal shot she was aiming for and only hit Gabrielle's foot. (Damage)

Gabrielle howled in pain and flailed at Flame's chest until she stopped resisting. Immediately afterward she grabbed Maddy's wrist and twisted it so she would drop the gun. A punch to the stomach was enough to finish Maddy off, and Gabrielle left the two slumped over each other near the broken glass.

Gabrielle grabbed the rock and hobbled away. Her sore shoulder and bleeding foot left her limping, and she was just trying to escape now without any further altercations. This wouldn't go exactly her way though, as she soon saw McClellan in the halls. McClellan's supposed expert senses failed her and Gabrielle managed to sneak up on her. (Perception failed)

Gabrielle wrapped her arm around McClellan's neck to choke her out, but several shots from her gun were fired off into the air in her struggle before she fell, attracting others to the location.

Anna and Fay managed to catch up as Gabrielle neared the exit. Anna managed to slightly clip Gabrielle's side with her pistol as she sprinted away. (Damage)

Fay had followed her out to the exit but only caught up as Gabrielle was driving away on a motorcycle. Fay's shots all missed as the intruder escaped.

Anyway, we're now short one important McGuffin, but do to a nonlethal heroine and a lack of possible arresting or anything of the sort, no one has been lost or even injured too much. Only temporary KOes. Higher ups won't really care about that though. They're gonna want their mystery rock. Oh damn.

Hearing the gunfire, Lia and Jane rush out of the base, only arriving after the action is over. Lia doesn't particularly care about the rock, but she'll be carrying a pistol around the base with her from now on. Jane helps Flame and Maddy up, and then gives them some treatment for their cuts and bruises.
