[Tool] Resorep - DirectX 11 texture replacer (2 Viewers)

R

I attempted to use Resorep with Dark Souls 3. Unfortunately, it didn't work. Although, it didn't even make a log file, so I'm not sure what to think. Dark Souls 3 is a 64-bit DX11 game, so it's not a complete incompatibility.

The Master's set seems like a prime candidate for replacement.

It looks like you're saving your textures to the incorrect file type. If you capture at DXT1 then you must save as DXT1 and the same for DXT5. Also you need to enable Mipmaps when saving.

Hi thanks for the reply. I tried to save it back to DXT1 format and it only made the areas I want to remove (the cape and the lower part of the corset.) Black. The texture is still there but just displayed in a black tone. Can you teach me whats the proper method to remove texture from the armor please? Thanks again.

This is going to sound really obvious when I say it... you said you painted with black, so of course the result is you get black ;)
If you want to remove something, you have to cut it away, it's no different to taking your scissors and cutting the legs off your jeans to make some shorts.
But here you must be careful, cut too much and maybe you get a hole in the body underneath.

I am using photoshop CC. So i need to select the areas and delete it? is that how I do it? I am noob in modding lol. What about the alpha layer? I colored the areas I want to remove black there but it doesnt seem to do anything.

I can't help you with PS since I have never used it.
I use Paint.net for editing dds textures and it's very good for that, I'd recommend you try it plus it's free.

I am trying to replace the Le Vladian underwear textures with the nude textures, so that I can use that set as the base nude model since, with resorep, the textures work on the default underwear but theres no way to show them. Does anyone know how to do this specifically, or rather, if i can copy the base body files then change the numbers to something. I tried saving textures, but resorep keeps pulling every texture except the underwear. I've tried the various ways listed so far in this thread but I cant seem to find a way to isolate them. this is all just assuming of course i can just rename the base files since they have a couple textures, then just black ones. Apologies in advance for the poor english, and lack of knowledge with all this.

oh I tried with Paint.net it works now! Thank you for the help.

What did you do differantly with Paint.net vs Photoshop CC?
I too am a photoshop CC users and would rather not have to use Paint.net to edit my textures.

Cutting it away? Are you saying you use the eraser on the texture??? I thought you had to add an alpha layer and use black to bank over it? If you do this would you have to save the DXT1 with alpha channel format?

Is Resorep suppose to work when you don't have it running?
I changed a few textures for testing yesterday, but today was just playing and did not want the mods active, so I did not run resorep. Well my textures are still modded in game! How do I make Resorep stop changing my textures?

I turned the Kibelius armor invisible... weird thing is some people still have it on and some don't. When things are dyed do they use another texture? Kind of hard to imagine them making hundreds of textures for each dyeable armor piece.
Is this just some weird glitch?

Hey, I did nothing different with paint.net . It issue was my photoshop cc wasnt "cutting" out the photos properly. That is why the cutted part appears to be black in game. and paint.net actually allowed me to cut the texture. cutting means erasing or select and delete.

no, you have to unlink Resorep from the BDO game executable to disable it.
Thanks so much! So I don't have to run resorep everytime I play?

I see. That is really annoying, I hate all these things I can't do in Photoshop CC that can be done in Free programs.

Has anyone tried editing Normal maps with resorep? I was trying last night and they don't work in game. It acts like the texture is not even in modded folder. I can swap Normal maps as (I switched wizards dace out for warrior for example), but if I edit the normal map at all and resave as a DXT5 it does not work anymore.

EDIT: Ok, I figured out how to get the normal maps to work after editing, in Photoshop when you go to save you have to click on Normal Map settings and be sure to set it to "Normalize Only" This way it will normalize it without changing how it looks.

What I can not figure out is how BDO originally created the normal maps, it looks different from Photoshop normal maps which have multi colors, BDO normal maps are only shades of purple and blue.

How did you get rid of the shoulder thing and the ring around her bosom? The rest looks awesome but on mine the shoulder piece and the ring around her bosom makes it look odd.
I just use Joku without any other mod. Likewise, I also figures out that equip kibelius armor make her fully nude while equip kibelius head gears remove all her shoulder gears and hat.
