AS of todays NA/EU patch this no longer works

removing the pad 01 file you used to be able to click past the error message

as of this morning when you click it once the game client closes.

you can still use resorep to replace textures but no swaps with the multi model file and removed pad file :(

Guess by showing that you could affect their cash shop income by swapping costumes so easily they decided to take action. Shame really
No!! Is this true?!

yes it sucks massively.

there is a sort of work around but it will take much more effort.

textures loaded through resorep still work without the paz file removed.

so technically you could go and make transparent the original underwear or items you wanted to, only problem is lack of textures due to partcut file.

i never used the partcut changes so haven't tested if deleting the contents still makes the game load the whole under body texture

Can you tell me how can I find this workaround?

if you put modded texture files in the modded folder on resorep with it hooked to the black desert .exe but leave the PAD0001 file in place the game will still load the new textures.

Yeah, that works for modding texture, but what about armor swapping that depends on the game reading our custom xml files. Is there any workaround for that?

nope haven't found a way yet.

tried removing the new folders we created for cerophono method ( patcher, character, sound) then replacing the original multimodel.xml in the locales folder with an edited one, game launched but nothing was changed.

For anyone having persistent issues with the file corruption messages after the 4/13 update, deleting your version.dat file in the main bdo directory will force the launcher to do a file integrity check. It probably isn't 100% necessary for people who back things up properly, but for those who don't, and for those who are feeling lazy (often the same set of people), it's an easy solution.

Is there any way to re-encript a .PAZ file, using quickbms?

Well it's an archive file so of course there is a way, the current quick bms script doesn't work though, people made an effort to research the PAZ and meta files 2 years ago here: XeNTaX • View topic - Black Desert PAZ + Meta File
but someone (probably Pearl Abyss or Daum ) send them a DMCA the only things left from their effort is the buggy and outdated quickbms script and PAZ browser (never got that one to work) someone just needs to make a effort to find a way to reverse those files break the encryption and make a proper script or standalone tool.
This stuff is like an Alien language to me but maybe someone else here knows what to do.
Their file format is the same in every region and didn't change much from back then since those tools mostly still work so it should be possible to use them as a base for this.

So I can still replace textures then? So I can take the Kibelius armor texture given here and replace the Grunil texture and I can still have my Grunil?

I don't think it works that way. You will most likely get a Grunil with wrong textures.

Sad day for all of us :frown:

isnt there a way to find the command/file or whatever that forces the client to close after clicking the ok button?

Nah ^^ that's not how it works there is no command or file or something like that, it's hard coded in to the exe.

ah okay *sadface*
but after reading the bdo forums technical issues section i found some posts about people expiriencing the same issues with the corrupt file even if "not" modded. for some people its fixed if they delete the version.dat and after like an hour they have the same issue again.
then like 30 mins ago this post appeared by a game mod:
[SOLUTION] File is corrupted even after repairs
maybe the last patch just messed something up and a hotfix might bring it back to where it was befor patch? who knows! xD

And thinking about how it was working before, and it's not working now.. Maybe we can try something? If you know what I mean... I can't try because JP is still working.

Open the old and the new .exe with a Hex Editor and see what they have changed?
