Synon can you make a compact version of the tempalates for Adobe Flash CS3 PORTABLE ?
The lowest I can save on CS5.5 is to CS4, so I can't do much.

Dante's right, you'll need something newer.
Download the CS6 trial if you haven't already. It's 30 days long so you have plenty of time to mess with it.

You can probably repeatedly downsave between versions but it'd make more sense for people to upgrade so we don't have tons of versions of every uploaded FLA.

I downloaded the adobe flash CS6 professional, but this didn't have serial number or keygen.
Where can i get ?
Your trial ended?

I don't want to link to CS6 cracks (they might not work anymore and it could be against the rules here) but Google is your best option.

I have an odd request - is it possible to upload ExampleMod.swf (costume-friendly version) exported in lowest setting possible (CS4/CS3)? Or is it impossible? I'd like to try my hand at modding but I don't have Flash and the only editor works with swf files.

I wouldn't bother with any of the files if you don't have flash cs. :(

If you want to make costume mods without flash, you'll have to use this.

Quoting myself from another thread because I'm special. It should explain the most commonly agreed on way to use the Vanilla Template when making full Costume Mods.

oh. well whats the best overall template for vanilla mods? isnt there only 1? the one that synonymous set up?

anyways, what i did was: duplicate the body template, then make the chest, left breast & right breast - into guides, then delete the the other layers, except for the settings layer. yada yada - boolean= false - drag the new "top template" (with the 3 guide layers) to Main. boom! works! i can see the chest now, but my drawing doesnt show.

If Synon's trick doesn't work, the following will explain why.

Is there a special rule or trick with the chest body template? changing "var overwrite:Boolean" from true to false doesnt work.

Yeah, that's one of the special rules/tricks I was talking about. Even if you have overwrite set to false, the breast and chest layer will be removed IF you put anything in those layers. The only way to have them not vanish is to set the Layers that hold those movie clips as Guides (See picture). You then need to put those layers on the Top Template. Or create a false skin layer in your mod in the Body Template.

Okay. So I'm kind of lost. I've made a top and bottom for what I want to do, but I have no idea what you mean when you say to drag the mod from library onto the stage.

You have to copy that section on to the main screen, and on there should be a layer called mods. You select that layer and then past the mod. Another way is just dragging it from the side and putting it in the mods layer.

^ Done that. Do I have to position the two pieces so they mesh together? And, I've tried publishing the .swf from here but nothing comes up in-game.

They don't really have to position perfectly, just needs to be on the Mods layer you drag it to when you're almost ready to publish

Did you give each piece an instance name to refer to when coding the registerMod() lines? Do you get compiler errors when publishing?

Upload the .fla here if you can't get it to work, I'll help you set it up
