I hope some other Modders can this too and work on other Races as Elins. I dont like Elin mods sorry, they arent sexy, they are like kids.......

I have only Elin, Castanic and high elf (leather only) chars, can't make mods for the other races.

I have a rather technical fix for that.
Download PsTools from the microsoft technet site. Run cmd.exe and then navigate to the folder. Run "psexec.exe -i -s cmd.exe" and then in the new window that popped up, navigate to the umod folder and just type in umod.exe and run it.
Now run the tera launcher as admin. Everything should just work.

alright cool i will give it a try and i will make a small video on it to show my method to see if i doing it wrong and stuff

Assuming you registered TERA.exe with uMod and are using the global hook, the only reason I've seen where the program isn't recognized at launch, is when TERA and uMod are not running from the same user. That is, if uMod is run as administrator, the TERA launcher needs to be run as administrator too. By the way, I've had absolutely no issue getting things to work without running anything as administrator.

However, that being said, none of the texture mods have worked as-is for me. I've always had to change the hash for the texture to what it needs to be for my client. Maybe that's because I play on NA servers, maybe it's because I made my own changes to my GPK files.

@Naduron
Have you considered using the full size textures (which can be exported from the GPK files themselves) as a base for modding? I've tried it myself and while everything else is still lower resolution, at least the armor (or lack thereof) is better defined.

Dx this so confusing i wish it was more like Dragon nest mods xD just put the file in the program and start her up xD i think it be easier if they where all just template mods so you can just switch in and out

What skin tone are you using to match up? It still is off from the one I currently have. Is it just the default tone when making a new character?

Actually the underwear armor doesn't actually have skin down there. I had to re-create it by starting with a blank canvas of similar appearance and then adding shading, shadows, rosiness, and whatever else to get it to look as close as it could to what it should look like.
In short, the skin tone and everything below the belt is custom painted.

Yeah, but what he was saying is the custom part you made isn't affected by the character's skin color. It may match your Elin's skin in game, but not everyone else's.

Also could you or Naduron update your Elin underwear mods to the 512x512 resolution texture? I don't know too much about texture files, but using umodel you can extract the _diff files which appears to be exactly the same as the base texture. I've tried inserting them with uMod and they do look better, but still have to use them at Texture Resolution 1 since we cant get a hash for the res 2. I've attached the higher res Elin texture. I'm not sure if infinity had a better way to do this.

Oh yeah, that is true. Unfortunately it will need to be custom updated for each skin color :/

Well, once you know what areas you want to make disappear, all you need to do is double the size of the original mod, and then copy/paste the alpha channel. I doubt you'd even have to mess with it.

For custom texture mods, like the Elin one, it's a little more involved, but may be worth redoing for the higher resolution. I just blended some of the changes I made for an original human bikini mod to up the resolution on it. I'm still tweaking it a bit.

I was more wondering if you had a better way of extracting the texture. _diff has something to do with lighting or something doesnt it? Still seems to work though. The other programs give .mat or texture2d files.

I just export whichever resource I want with uModel, which is a breeze with uModelGUI.

Almost thought i found a way around umod. Was messing with the unreal developer kit and managed to create a new texture2d, the problem is it wont work ingame. crashes to desktop. The texture size more than doubled...is that the problem?
its like trying to learn a new language to me lol
Same with converting psk to skeletalmesh.

Think of it this way: modding ffxi textures but with a small hidden flag that the Checksum looks for. Not sure when it happens.
In this case, I think you hit that. So tera is pretty much forced close.

You did get the right idea of trying to get the SDK and see about decompressing and changing the textures, but I think
the devs of this game use a different program. I dont know what else to say, looking at the bikini/underwear
change. that and I'm out of brain juice so thinking is no good now =\

How do you use anything besides the Elin Underwear texture?... I can't get anything else to work.

Edit: Never mind, I'm retarded. Would like to know if using some of these textures as replacements is doable though.

No point in trying to use them for the UPK packer, like i said before:

You can't repack the files.

First of all the Texture2D from UDK is TGA while the one in the UPK Packer is "incomplete" and compressed Texture2D file.

And second. It's not cause of the "Security" to make sure it can't be mod'ed, but cause how the Unreal Engine works.
Even you found a way to repack it so would you still unable to change any files cause you don't have the "compress/decompress-coder" to recive or update the streamkeys, hexkey data and series numbers, even by changing the alpha channel in the texture is enought to make the GPK corrupt, cause you added extra data that you didn't update add to the "list"
If you read the README so does it even say that the UPK packer doesn't even support Add or removing of file.

It is thanks to this feature of insane compression and handling of the files that we are being able to run this game in max graphic.
Without this feature so would we have 5 FPS even at medium graphics.

It is not like all other non-Unreal Engine games where you can just exract and repack the files without any problems.

Hey everyone.. I've spent some time reworking some of the outfits on the castanics but I'm having some troubles.. Most of the time on a heavily modified set I get lots of empty spaces you can see right thru to the back of my character.. This usually happens on the arms and chest.. I've tried using the De-Censor Castanic v1.1 and v1.2 but no luck so far.. Any ideas?

Attaching some of my work but this is about the extend of what I can do with the cloth armor..

The empty spaces, or unrendered areas, are due to the developers trying to save disk space and deleting areas that would not be seen under normal circumstances. By editing the textures, we are seeing more and more areas that are blank. Right now there's nothing we can do about it because we can't edit the skeletal meshes or UV mapping. If we could, we could fill in those areas and pretty much make anything we wanted.

I've been using Naduron's mods as a base and tinkering to see what I could come up with. While doing so, I have come to realize Naduron has removed as much clothing as possible. Chances are, if he leaves clothing in a certain area, its more than likely blank beneath, with no skin to render. Again, nothing we can do about it.

It limits the creativity a bit, but I'm just thankful that we can mod these in the first place.

The first pic is an example of a missing area on the left breast. Second and third are my own creations, using Naduron's mods as a base.
