The only thing i could think of is you try ShadowAce's swapper since he did it using a batch file, i did not try it myself so i'm not sure it will work but there's a good chance that it will.

Dude, sry to bother again but even V2.7 is not working for me. I keep trying out all stuff to get it fucking working.
I did all you said. Again, I have Vindictus not installed in the regular folder, got a special MMO folder for it instead, and OS Win7 64bit. Not sure if that matters.
Deleted the folders containing 7 random nums, checked if the dll has the original size, placed V2.7 on my desktop, start game (have to login throu website), then checked name of the game in task manager, wow surprise: Vindictus.exe obviously. launched your mod, typed exe name in the text box, timer at 1716, browsed for Vindictus.exe in the main folder of the game, then swapped.
Error shows up "Only one instance of the same program can be executed at one time" then I click OK, suddenly your mod started twice. Closed the other, tried names all kind of stuff.., all this I ran with Admin ofc. tried swap again, a 3rd one opened, LUL WTF,. then restored back up files and closed both. Ran mod again as admin, did same thing, next mod is running and the same error occurs -ROFL-, then I quit the first mod I started and swapped the dll in the one mod that appeared after the error. Then it does nuthin keep klicking and I'm in-game in town. Where am I supposed to see the switched textures? Toon is in underwear. Didn't get kicked anymore tho, yeah know... that's messy LOL

Ok, for those who start the game via web, try this:
(I tested this method on EU server with sebway2k3 2.4 swapper, but it may work if the swapper detects the hackshield)

1) Create a new notepad file in same folder vindictus.exe, rename it to anything_you_want.exe, it doesn't matter all you need is an exe file for the swapper.

2) Run the swapper and set the exe file you have created in step 1, then press 'Swap for edited dll' on the swapper, obviously you will get an error because the file isn't a win exe.

3) Do not close the swapper, login on web an launch the game, the swapper should detect the HSUpdate.exe is running, and when it closes it should do the magic and swap the files.

* If you get the binary size error, the swapper is working, but the swap time is to short. Also you should make a copy of your original FileSystem_Stido.dll on swapper folder and rename there to FileSystem_Stdio.dll.backup, just in case the version you have there is not the correct one.

* If the game splash screen appears to fast since the swapper closes or it appers during the swapper is open, you need to set a shorter time.

i try ShadowAce's swapper and sebway2k3's swapper.
both failed.... ToT (mod loading success, but few minute later memory modify detect by hackshield)

i think "filesystem_stdio.dll" changed on 01.29.13 update.
also hackshield update(?) too (ehsvc.dll ver 5.6.7.237)

maybe... not yet update on NA, EU.. it will be soon... (season2 ep2)
Enjoy it while it lasts.

Ok dude I did that, it says it's not a win32 exe file. That's right so I let the error window open otherwise it will start new. While it's open I started client at the site, EU server but English version. And yep it detects Hackshield BUT I have set the lowest timer it can start, 1747 miliseconds and mod is not showing in game. If I set 1 single milisecond lower (1746) the binary error stuff pops up, lul. In the readme file it says if the mod isn't working in game then the timer was set too high, but this is the lowest I can set and it's not working, a 0001 milisecond is too high? LOL. Any idea?
Why do I have to check the exe name in task manager? I don't see vin~1.exe, I see Vindictus.exe. And when I swap DLL error shows up saying "Only one instance of the same program can be executed at one time" That means it can not run 2 at same time or with same name. I bet sebway2k3 has set something up on his OS to automatically rename an exe to "*~1" and inc, if the current running one got same name/process like Vindictus or whatever.

Does my toon have to be in underwear or are that swapped gears in nude? Or maybe mod is running and I don't know how to check in game LOL :) Sum oldschool Vindictus tell me, I don't know the old mods from season1.

Reinhard, if it works which mod version are you running? Confused

Da fuck is hex edit and how do I do it?

There is a hex editing tutorial here: Downloading: Hex Editing Tutorial.docx - Uploadingit

And if you're curious, Hex stands for Hexidecimal, it is the number format that computers use to understand...well...everything really. All files can be (and are from the computer's point of view) represented merely by a string of characters in Hexidecimal format. Hex Editing would normally change the actual contents and inner workings of the file, but what we are doing is adding a long string of zeroes (which according to the computer mean nothing so long as there is no other character after the zeroes) to the end of the file. Since the computer doesn't read these zeroes, it changes the file size, how the file is seen by the computer, and nothing else. This makes it so that the file is not able to be detected since the only way to detect a file is by matching its hexidecimal code. The reason we need to keep doing this is because Nexon keeps finding out the new hexidecimal info for the files we upload and adding it to their list of "hacking files", which is why I keep suggesting for people to Hex Edit the files themselves to reduce the chance of it being detected. (I do believe we have some Nexon spies amongst us!)

Oh, and yes, computers (hardware I think) also read in binary, so things are translated into hex, then into binary, then back into hex, or something like that. I do loathe programming.

I did not do anything on my OS to automaticly rename a file to add ~1 to an exe, however it does shorten the path of vindictus.exe and the swapper itself and write it inside the bat file which is copied to the random folder inside vindictus's folder. The problem is i cannot recreate this bug because i can't use EU client but i can ask you some questions to help me understand why it does this.

1 can you usually launch the game using the exe inside vindictus's folder or are you forced to launch it from the web site?
2 when you launch the game do you have HSUpdate.exe running for a short period of time and then close itself in your task manager? If not, is there anything else other than vindictus.exe that opens and close quickly in your task manager after you launch the game?

Vindictus Swapper v3.0
----------------------

Changes
--------
1. Added a timer conversion multiplier which is used when switching from 'Incredibly fast counting method' to Miliseconds, you don't really have to worry about this since it calculates the number it needs automaticly when switching from Miliseconds to 'Incredibly fast counting method'.
2. Added a new button called 'Automatic Detection' which turns on the detection for HSUpdate.exe, this should allow people that are forced to launch the game from the web site to use the swapper. You can cancel the 'Automatic Detection' by clicking on the button again.

Remember that this swapper waits for HSUpdate.exe to open, then close, only then it starts counting, it will close itself after the swapper found that vindictus.exe is running, so if any of these don't launch when the game is started please let me know and i'll modify the swapper with the informations i receive.

Also remember that each time you use any of my new swappers you need to have the correct FileSystem_Stdio.dll inside your vindictus's bin folder which should be around 529kb (At least for NA client)

Vindictus Swapper V3.0 : https://rapidshare.com/files/691860986/Vin SWP V3.0.rar
Original DLL (as for 2013-02-03 and for NA clients) : https://rapidshare.com/files/1549766403/FileSystem_Stdio.rar

This is kinda weird because i am also using NA client and i got in game, let it run for about an hour now and i'm still not getting kicked out, if you did hex edit both files inside the swapper's folder then i would suggest you change the swapper's name to anything you want, currently its called Vin SWP V3.0.exe, you can change it to let's say, OMGNexonSucksBigBalls.exe then run it, i beleive Nexon is detecting both FileSystem_Stdio.dll and the swapper's name, i already did test that before and it worked for me, i hope it helps, or else i might just release the swapper's source code so that anyone that has knowledge in visual basic can change it for themselves

I'm getting the binary error after I reinstalled the game. Prior to that install, everything was working fine. Now, no matter what timer value I put in, I get the error. Either I'm doing something wrong or they're detecting the swapper. I'm far more inclined to think that the former is true.

Size of filesystem_stdio.dat: 1046kb
Size of filesystem_stdio.dll: 467kb
Size of filesystem_stdio2.dll: 887kb

I've used your edited stdio file, but to no avail. Not really sure what's up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you re-installed the game, did you delete FileSystem_Stdio.dll.backup inside the swapper's folder as well ? if not well that's probably why, you just uninstalled the game keeping the old backup inside the swapper's folder, reinstalled the game with the wrong 'original dll' inside the swapper's folder. If this is the case, delete FileSystem_Stdio.dll inside vindictus's bin folder, delete CurrentInfo.txt from vindictus's root folder, and delete FileSystem_Stdio.dll.backup inside the swapper's folder along with Swapper Info.vds, then launch the game normally, it will download the files that you just deleted and run the swapper again so it makes a new and fresh backup.

Yeah, I think that was the mistake I made. Maybe I'm not getting entirely how it works, but when I hit the button to swap for backup, it doesn't seem to backup the .dll like it says. I had to repatch, grab the .dll and put it in another folder to make sure I had one to revert to in case the swap didn't work that particular time.

I managed to get it working, but now hackshield is detecting it after a few minutes of gametime, so it would seem that I'm stuck at where others are now.

Thanks for the help in at least getting it to function, though.

Stupid Nexon... Getting tired of updating the swapper to make it works, i'll work on it over the weekend

It still gets detected even with a name change, in fact when i changed the name it got detected faster but i think it only detects filesystemstdio.dll so i think you will have to release another and and a source code and give a tutorial on how to use source code
