Had a go at some 3D posing for the first time today, here are the results of work with Poison.. and some Cammy in her Bison outfit (which I'll include as it reminds me of Nora the dominatrix-esque whipping women from Streets Of Rage). It's addicting! Enjoy.

Here are all the female enemies I can currently think of that have yet to be mentioned; the kunoichi in Shinobi III and Shinobi PS2, kunoichi in Ninja Warriors Again, the biker girls from Battle Circuit, the girls in Strider, some in the game Undercover Cops, Robocop vs The Terminator and Sonic Blast Man 2 off the top of my head.

Sonic Blast Man 2 has female zako? I know 1st Sonic Blast Man has 2 types of them, but can't remember any in 2.

By the way, look like Shinobi games in older age always feature kunoichi zako in red. Her name is Kasumi in the 1st Shinobi game of Sega Genesis.

And the PS2's green kunoichi. She uses fast attacks, blocking, and shuriken. She also able to use Shuriken Burst.

NNin that is a sweet commission. I hope it's okay me asking but what sort of price was that? I might have to get some Isabel comissions done soon.

You're right, it was the first SBM, not the second one.

The zako in the early Shinobi were some of my favorite. I especially liked how they would explode when defeated.

As I promise, the kung fu female enemy. Japanese version of Megadrive games usually (not always) had a good artwork.

Love the art of it.

Speaking of old art, I found what looks to be a flyer or directions on an arcade cabinet for Crest of Wolf(Riot Zone in the US.) I can't remember where it came from, but it's on the theme.

There was no arcade version of this game. It was based on Riot City arcade, but Crest of Wolf was not an arcade game. Both games were developed by West One. Crest of Wolf can be considered an adaptation of Riot City since it recycles some of the stages, and some of the characters have been changed. The girl in the poster is hot, though. She has that anime cuteness which cannot be duplicated in the game, but the end result isn't bad. No female enemies in Riot City was a HUGE OVERSIGHT. I do feel bad about beating her down so many times. She looks like she's out for a good time, and she gets assaulted by a guy who looks like Cody from Final Fight and a guy who looks like Linda from Double Dragon II.

Oh, interesting. I didn't know much about it at all, only that I had a much smaller resolution version named crest of wolf.

I have been lurking in this post for a while now, time to finally post.

Great find! I had seen those pictures in black and white but not in color.

This is a little project of mine, ripping and animating the sprites of the Dominatrix from Vendetta 2:

I haven't had much time to post lately, but I have still managed to do the occasional trawl for zako news.
I found something interesting about Captain Commando - it seems Capcom had begun making a promotional manga for the arcade game's release, but appear to have dropped the idea partway through - I guess they realised it was a little too gory to be used in any form of marketing. Still, it was pretty cool to see this kind of interpretation of the characters - most of all the sadistic Carol electrocuting a hostage to death with her embrace. (the last couple of pages)

I'd so love to discover that they made a similar manga for Final Fight, but that's a different story... Anyway, speaking of Captain Commando, I tried doing a commissioned fanart of Carol and Brenda last year. TBH the end result was a little disappointing for a few reasons, but that's how it goes sometimes. Still, it's not terrible, and there's not much artwork out there - have a look for yourselves:

And here are a couple of little animations that I made. (for some reason, the second one doesn't animate until you click on it)

Any chance you can get some images or videos of the kunoichi zako from naruto uzumaki chronicles 1 or 2 (most preferably 2 because the graphics are better)? There's two types if I remember, one thats purple wearing a skirt and a red one with a skirt and stockings. Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles walkthrough part 11 - YouTube Naruto Uzumaki Chronicles walkthrough part 12 - YouTube And last but not least the kunoichi zako that are featured in Heavenly Sword. Though they are featured barely, one mission has you pitted against hundreds of them and the executions are sexy seeing as it is a next gen game Heavenly Sword - Chapter Five Death From Above (Part 3 of 4) - YouTube

Greetings all! I'm very glad to have found this thread.
I have great interest in the 'Zako' theme, especially for the cannon fodder type enemies who are defeated quickly and harshly and left lying about like discarded trash.
This, for me, is about female enemies who both deserve their fate (due to being on the "bad" side) and who are shown little attention by either the good guys who defeat them or their bad guy allies.

I have collected a rather enormous amount of material related to this theme, and I would like to one day use the Beats of Rage engine to create some beat-em-up games that include my custom zako-type female baddies.
Does anyone remember the female enemy "Soozie" or "Garnet" from Streets of Rage 3 (spikey blonde hair, skimpy outfit, ubiquitous in the early levels)? She, along with Linda from Double Dragon, was always one of my favorite zako enemies.

It would be great if there were some kind of central zako database online somewhere. I'd love to contribute to something like that.

BTW, IronE, I'm loving your sprite rips of the female baddie from Vendetta/Crime Fighters 2. Have you made much progress on this? Have you ever tried doing custom sprites?

Cheers all,
- Kimblis

Alright. I'm not really sure if I should post on this thread, or on the bad girls from games thread, or if I should start a new thread entirely for my material, but screw it, I'll start here.

This is a sprite sheet of Soozie/Garnet, my favorite female zako from the Genesis game Streets of Rage 3. She never got much attention compared to Blaze or Electra, but she immediately earned a top place on my list with her punkish style and cocky, in-your-face attitude. I love her hair...and that miniskirt is not too bad either. Despite her tough attitude, she's one of the weakest enemies in the game and the player can usually reduce her from being a cocky, annoying enemy to a motionless, harmless heap on the floor in just a few seconds. She often shows up in large numbers and in a variety of different colors. She is especially prevalent on the first stage (the warehouse), the dance club stage (where she is often dancing before moving to attack), and the elevator stage (where she, along with many other zako enemies, can be disposed of easily by tossing them off the edge of the elevator).

For those interested in the bad girls beating up the good guys/girls, Soozie/Garnet has an interesting attack in which she slaps her opponent about 50 times in a few seconds. Not really my thing though *shrug*.
For those who have played Streets of Rage 3, this is the Japanese version of this enemy; the American version was wearing somewhat less skimpy clothes, as was usually the case in conversions of games from Japan to the U.S. in the 1990s.

In the first row is her idle stance (breathing) and several of her alternate colors; I am still missing quite a few of these alternates, and would appreciate any help in finding them.
The second row has her walking and dancing sprites. I am still missing the sprites she uses right before she moves to attack the player, when she punches her own hand a few times.
The third row has her normal attack and jumping attack.
The fourth row has her sprites for when hurt, falling, defeated, or getting up.
The fifth and sixth rows, below the green line, were unused in the Sega game but have been added by the Beats of Rage community for use in custom fan games, though I am not sure if these have actually been used in a game.

Just for kicks, I've also added a few screenshots from the Streets of Rage Remake Editor (version 5), one showing Axel after having dealt with an entire ambush of Soozie type enemies and another showing him dealing with a Soozie on the elevator stage.

Cheers all,
- Kimblis
