Found an old PC game called might and magic 6 and 7 have very interesting zakos. These are from part 7.

Oh yeah, you can see all of them at spriter's resource. I bet you could make a decent hexen or heretic mod out of them, there's enough to keep the sprites consistent.

More spriters resources ...Can't upload the pics using mobile device, so I hotlink them instead. someone mentioned tekwar earlier so here's the sprites. Not really crazy for digitalized character but here it is. Got spandex and skirted zako (really? an enemy guard wearing a short skirt and pantyhose?)

This one from witchhaven, this one is no doubt a digitalized actor, but heavily touched up.

I really like the digitized characters in games like this and the original Mortal Kombat and other games. Made some of those myself! I like the female guard in the business outfit a lot as it seems like someone you might encounter in an office building anyways...plus can be a sexy look. :) As for realism, I would take that over the other sprite sheet with the female shooting fireballs from her hands! ;)

Estranged: Act 1 (free game on Steam)

Quite a fun and mysterious game, added bonus of 2 female enemies towards the end. They were so aggressive getting shots took quite a few lives, especially Miss MachineGun xD. I think they are HL2 medic models used as enemies, but work quite nicely with the game.

at 12:25 in this clip the player kills a squad of corrupted rogues from diablo II. I like this scene seeing many rogue bodies lying around while the player still battling the rest of the rogues

hello, i designed some henchwomen for an upcoming project, and i wondered about their potential as zako? each type of henchwoman works for a different supervillain. the Stagehand works for a circus-themed villain, and the Made Maid works for a Mafia-themed villain. the names are not final, i have not decided yet.

i am trying to give my art a little broader appeal where i can, but for me personally i do not feel one way or another about zako, so i need expert critics to advise me :D

This is what i think personally, its just what i think and can be ignored; the Stagehand as a circus themed cannon fodder: Face paint is ok, but the outfit leaves alot to be desired, if you google it alot of circus performers wear really colorful outfits with interesting designs, usually full bodysuits that are skintight if they're acrobats or baggy stuff if they're clowns, or whatnot.

As for the made maid, the pinstripe skirt is good, but there is nothing there saying she is a maid except the name, maybe give her more of a maid theme with that headdress thing maids have on usually, and since its a mafia theme invoke the 20's/30's era by giving her classic lingerie, like stockings, and a garter-belt. The corset sticks out really badly making the waist look really tiny, and the boots don't fit the theme so well, maybe go for pumps? also perhaps give her gloves or something, to go with the mask and boots.

lol yes it is hard to decide what a "stagehand" uniform would look like. i think most real stagehands just wear their normal clothes, or wear outfits that are intended to make them less noticeable. my Stagehand henchwomen must be visible though, they are intended to be circus-themed. likewise i had not really intended for the Made Maids to actually be maids, it was just a funny name i came up with at the last second when putting the picture together. i might just drop the special names altogether, and just have them be "<villain>'s henchgirl". after all it is not like Joker's clown thugs or Black Mask's goons have special names.

I like them, maybe have some variations for the circus ones with full length tights or tight legwear like that, variations on the face, hair colour and outfit. I'd probably drop the mask for the mafia one/s but that's just me. Again, variations would be good. Also a touch more underboob could work! xD

Edit -

In contrast to weediscool I really like the bare hands for her and really like the corset, too. Oh and the boots on both designs.

I like them a lot.

I quite like Made Maid for her mafia theme. Maybe you can try giving her mafia styled hat?

For Stagehand, I never into circus theme that much. But other than face paint, she gives too little feel about it. Maybe not enough tight part on costume lol
